Walking around the backyard and my daughter found Walking around the backyard and my daughter found this carpenter bee on the flowers. 

It was completely still. I honestly couldn’t tell if it was alive or simply resting because of the cold. 

We would’ve missed it if we had hurried. 

Carpenter bees are a native bees and an important pollinator species for many different fruits, vegetables, and native plants.

I’ve been doing lots of bird watching lately. Fr I’ve been doing lots of bird watching lately. From my office window at home, from our backyard, on our hikes and walks, and everywhere we are traveling to. 

It’s been fascinating to watch how they fly with one another, fly solo, search for seeds, and sing their songs. 

To wrap up this nature micro moments week, i caught these Canada geese coming in for a landing.

Almost a whole week of nature micro moments. But I Almost a whole week of nature micro moments. But I’ll be honest, I didn’t get outside today. Work days are always a little more challenging. 

Nevertheless, I still had a nature micro moment. Today’s was watching our transplanted pothos, making sure that the soil stays moist for the roots to take. Especially when schedules and weather is less favorable, you can still have nature moments by bringing nature indoors.

I tend to save bigger nature projects for the week I tend to save bigger nature projects for the weekends. Here, we are getting our hands dirty attempting to propagate some pothos cuttings. 

And during spurts of solo parenting, spending some time in nature gives my kids something to do, and allows me a chance to clear my head while doing a hobby I enjoy. 

Family bonding, fresh air, sunlight, kids activities, and parent mental health, all with one activity.
